VA disability compensation
A monthly tax free payment to veterans who became ill or were injured during service, and to veterans whose service made an existing condition worse. Some conditions are presumptive, meaning the connection to service does not have to be proven individually.
How to apply
File through the VA, or have a County Veterans Service Office file it with you at no charge. They do this every day and it costs nothing.
